Anti Rollover Device

Crash systems | July 13, 2021

How to prevent big vehicles from a possible rollover subsequent to the side impact?

In this case, vehicles with high centers of gravity (those classified by IIHS as SUVs, pickups, or passenger vans) will be tested with an antiroll device attached to the nonstruck side of the vehicle.

The three-arm device made of structural tubing attaches to the vehicle where the roofrail intersects the B-pillar and at two points on the pinch welds under the door sill. This small device enables a safe performance of side impact tests even on big vehicles.
